Bio
Andrea De Luigi (b. Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, printmaking, assemblage, sculpture, and installation. Her multilayered works on canvas, paper, and wood explore transformation, impermanence, and memory through a dynamic interplay of figuration and abstraction.
She holds an MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires, with further studies under Kenneth Kemble and Guillermo Roux and postgraduate training in Art Therapy (IASE). A former clinical psychologist, she integrates psychological insight into her visual language. In 2022, she completed an artist residency at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York.
Since founding the Taller Andrea De Luigi in 2015, she has directed and taught independent artists in her Buenos Aires studio-school. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across Argentina, North America, and Europe, including the Lucy Mattos Museum, Centro Cultural Borges, Agora Gallery (New York), and the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo.
Awards include the Gelman Trust Endowed Scholarship, the Josh Yu Painting Scholarship, and first prize at the Salón de Otoño Roberto Di Paolo. Upcoming projects include her participation in Personal Structures (European Cultural Centre, Venice, 2026) and the RARO Barcelona residency (2026).
